Sickness

It has been a rough couple of weeks. I have been super sick. It all started 2 Friday's ago when my middle girl cam running up to me said "look Momma cotton" yeah NOT COTTON BABE ha ha allergies kicked in instantly throat closing up and eyes itching and sneezing like crazy. I am not even joking I had allergy testing done last year and I think the only thing I am not allergic to is Sand. HA HA When I was a child and teen my allergies were not NEAR as bad as they are now. I guess another lovely thing about aging. Your health gets a little tricky! ;) Anyway my allergy attack quickly moved to a Sinus infection and me being the stubborn person I am I waited until yesterday to go to the doctor. It got to the point I could not breath and could not get a full deep breath. So I went to the doctor yesterday and Yep it's a Sinus infection a pretty bad one. :( I got a few shots and a script for some meds and later that night I started feeling better but I hate how I feel with those steroid shots I get all hyped up my heart races, feel like I am running a 5K and I am sitting still. I could not rest and I was so scatter brained. (like that's something new bahahah) I wanted to share at least one photo from the doctor visit. My son had to go with me because well we are super busy at the store and everyone has something going on. I always take his hotwheels in my purse so that he has something to keep him busy. I would say this baby boy is his Father's child. LOL So anywho I woke up this morning feeling so much better PRAISE THE LORD! :) Got up worked in the garden and now I am going to rest some I can tell I need it this morning! Love My Church!

If you really know me you would know I am a member of a wonderful church The Rock Family Worship Center in Huntsville AL. We have an amazing Pastor who LOVES the city he serves! When the Storms came on 4-27-11 our awesome County Commission contacted Pastor Rusty to ask him if our church would adopt the Lockhart community here in North Alabama of course Pastor jumped right to it and here is a video that the church published. I am so proud of the people I attended with and serve under they really showed "Jesus with skin" as my sister Laura always says! What amazing unity our community has shown through all of this. I hope you have an amazing church you call home! I hope you have a Blessed day!

Come on anyone that knows me knows I can't just post a picture and not tell you about it. HA HA I mean really its me we are talking about! ha ha ha
We took the girls race cars and Bo took his Roadster and we went to MMP to race this weekend. I want to brag on my hubby for a minute. He has gone a very long time without winning ANYTHING AT ALL and in the past 3 weeks he has won 1 5K, won the weekly program at our home track, and this past weekend he got to the Semi finals in 2 different 7K races. I am so proud of him and our girls they did a great job as well to be out of their comfort zone! Can I say one more time it's not easy when our girls line up against one another! I get so nervous having to do it all for Bella! YIKES Have a blessed Thursday and please keep praying for Alabama! Blessings!

April 27 2011 Tornado Pics of damage!!!

While riding up the mountain on our way to MMP we saw damage and I wanted to show some of you who do not live here or live here any longer what I saw! These are not very good pictures because I was taking them as we drove down the road but you will get the picture!

In this picture you can't see it but there was a boat inside one of these trailers!


Roof on this building just gone!


Look close you can see hundreds of people lined up to get gas! It was a mad house!


Hundred's of year old tree's just fell over like they were tooth picks!

The next two pictures are of a church in Dekalb County.



The next two pictures are of a home and barn that were severely damaged by the tornado that hit that area hard.



The next two pictures are of a brick home that lost its roof and another home beside it that was just crushed.



This is the area that the workers would take the metal, wood, sheet rock anything they found ended up in this field.


These last three pictures just speak for themselves.





It was and is a horrible situation these people have been tossed into. Please keep Jackson & Dekalb Co in your prayers. They were hit heavy and lost close to 40 lives in these storms! We need help over here in the worst way. I am so proud of my Mother in law who just a few short weeks ago was certified to drive and work the Red Cross Disaster Relief truck. She has been on the ground working none stop for almost a week. The church I attend has many locations and one of the closest has been here working. They have been cleaning yards, cutting tree's and feeding those that have nothing to eat. Please pray for all of those these storms have touched. I pray everyone has a Jesus filled day and be blessed!

A lot can change in a week!

I am writing this post just less than 24 hours of receiving power back to our home. Our area has been without power for 5 straight days now. As most of you know I live in the North East corner of Alabama and we were hit really hard by the storms that came through. I did not sustain any damage to my home (Thank you Lord for the hedge of protection) however the old homestead up on the mountain sustained some major damage. We lost the barn that Bo's grandfather built and all of his grandfather's stuff is now gone. Bo's grandfather died 8 years ago so this makes it a little harder on the family. I know that it was just stuff and the memories my husband have of that barn and his grandfather will stay with him and that lives can not be replaced. There were many people that lost their lives in our area from these storms. I personally know a woman who's son died in Tuscaloosa that horrible Wednesday. My heart goes out to her and all the others in our area and really all over the state that lost their loved ones and everything they have ever owned.

My husband as most of you have read is a race car driver and if you are going to race you have to have a generator. I can not tell you how much I LOVE HIM RACING as I do when the power goes out. I know most people do not have these things and we are apart of the blessed few that did not loose all that was in our fridge and freezers! Bo and I had already planned to be racing out of town this weekend so we decided to load up our motor home a little early and get out of town. I felt horrible leaving but at that time they were telling us if we had no business being in a certain neighborhood then they would arrest us. I knew there was nothing I could do but pray and lets face it prayer is really the best thing I could do for them.

We headed out of town with our little family of 5 up the mountain where evidence of the storm was everywhere. There was Federal Emergency command post set up and Military Police out in full force. There were Tree's that had to be well over 100 year old down on homes, across streets, snapped in two. The further we got into the rural area the worse the damage was. We drove down a stretch of highway that there were people standing on their roofs and there roofs were only maybe 5 ft off the ground. The only thing they had left was the roof the house had collapsed. There were 18 wheeler's slammed into school buses. A place I use to go watch basketball games over the years you could see the seating from the highway it just ripped this place apart! It was more than I could take and I began to cry and pray for these people. My children came to the window ( we have seat belts in our couch area of the motor home. So don't think they were up running a muck in the motor home) to look out and I heard my little 4 year old son say Oh No We need to pray for them! Lord knows these kids drive me crazy half the time and I am ready to send them to boarding school (totally kidding, I think some people don't get me) but my mercy it did this Mamma's heart to hear my baby boy say those words with compassion in his voice. We prayed for them as we drove down the road.

I want to thank our local power company SEPB you guys rocked it out and got us up and running well before the masses got their power! Our churches have been going above and beyond to be the Father's hands and feet. It's amazing to me how fast our worlds can change in a week. I am so grateful that HE (THE FATHER) never changes he is the same yesterday today and forever. I can not tell you how blessed I feel to be able to even post this. It's in times like these were I just wanna say FORGET THE PAST, Forget all the drama, and lets just love like HE loved... I pray that I can do this and lend a helping hand.
